Island Girl: The Name, The Connection.
Just a girl raised on an island with a love for family, art and history.
My grandfather's family is from Henna and Palermo in Sicily (a Mediterranean island famous for its volcano, lemons, cannoli, brightly painted carretti and maiolica). The city of Henna was named over 3,000 years ago and the henna plant was documented in Palermo over 1,000 years ago. Even my name, Jeanette, is a variant of the word henna.
Henna and I were connected by the Fates and that has captivated my heart and inspires my art.
Henna Body Art
You'll find a great variety of henna styles (Moroccan, Indian, Persian, etc.) happily offered at Island Girl as I've studied with world-renown henna artists. Henna is part of my Sicilian heritage so I place a high standard on quality and professionalism.
Sicily’s henna history dates back over 1,000 years. To illuminate this, I'm combining my Sicilian heritage and innovation to pioneer a modern henna style rooted in Sicily's ancient and diverse past - before our history is forever lost.
Original Paintings & Wearable Art
When the pandemic hit, my ethnic Mediterranean-style paintings emerged, every brushstroke influenced by my deep Sicilian roots. Additional painting styles include landscapes, seascapes, still life and other vibrant and fantasy scenes.
Where fashion and fads try to keep everyone looking the same, I'm busy creating jewelry, hair accessories, crowns and other unusual wearables to help everyone look fabulous and eccentric. Dare to be different with these subtle-to-bold conversation starters.
Psychic Readings
Psychic gifts have been passed down for generations in my family. Runes are my preferred divination tool and readings with me are constructive, compassionate and optimistic. Your reading is relayed quickly and to the point so you can get back to your busy day with new insight and a positive outlook.

An Authentic Witch Shop
From the cautiously curious to seasoned practitioners, all are welcome at Aunt Jet's. If you're a discerning practitioner of witchery, particularly of the ethical & defensive variety, you'll appreciate our fine collection of magickal items including crystals, candles, books, divination tools, art and jewelry.
Our 17th-century inspired witch's apothecary has herbal blends, incense and potions skillfully crafted by Aunt Jet for you to use in rituals, candle & folk magick… and, of course, spells, something Jet's done since the early 70s.
Esoteric guidance is at the heart of the shop's purpose and Aunt Jet is available to answer your questions whenever we're open.
You're welcome to light a candle and incense on our public altar and know your prayers are ascending to the Higher Good. Monetary offerings are not necessary but any left on the altar are all donated to The Heart of the Catskills Humane Society here in Delhi NY.

The Witch Jeanette grew up on an island off the coast of New England. She's been called Jet and Aunt Jet since the early 70s & 80s. Her great-grandmother was a psychic & medium and Jet was encouraged to hone those inherited psychic gifts. Her mother (and aunts on occasion) taught her plant identification & remedies, energy work, clearings & blessings, using crystals, Ouija & oracle cards. Jet's Certificate of Ordination is with the Trinacrian Rose Church in Salem, Massachusetts. Her spiritual practice focuses on her familial training, honoring her ancestors and the Greco-Sicilian goddess Hekate. She lives in NY's Catskill Mountains with her husband Chris.
