Italian Maiolica-Style Painting Workshop
Painting Retreat in Umbria, Italy - For beginners to experienced artists.
Italy is famous for its ceramics and their designs are recognized the world over. This class will create bright, whimsical acrylic paintings based on Italian and Sicilian designs, including those from nearby Deruta, Italy. Discover a simple technique that makes this art form easy and fun for painters at any level to create bold works of art. Participants will create several paintings using acrylics on paper.
The workshop portion of your adventure in Italy includes:
- Optional pre-trip painting class at Aunt Jet's in Delhi NY to show you have what it takes to truly enjoy the workshop,
- Daily immersive workshop lessons,
- Expert tutelage in a patient and helpful style,
- Visit a maiolica factory to experience how Italian ceramics go from raw clay to hand-painted to finished product - the perfect inspiration for our acrylic paintings!
- All materials used in class,
- Art tool use and care,
- Insightful answers to maiolica and art-related questions throughout the trip,
- Bonus! One-on-one psychic readings during free time.
- Optional post-trip art show at Aunt Jet's in Delhi NY to display and sell your creations to the public.
